In 1898 the brewery was renamed Northern Brewing Co. Northern grew to become one of Superior’s most prosperous industries. After declining sales Northern was sold to Cold Spring Brewing Co. in 1967. In 1997 Cold Spring was renamed Gluek Brewery, which Cold Spring had purchased in 1966. Gluek Brewery is the top producer of energy drinks in the U.S. and the Northern Label is still produced under it today.
